Yemen Mocha Khulani: an extraordinary natural coffee grown on mountainside terraces in Asia. They say Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, but Yemen raised it.
Once famous for production, it’s hard to come by this origin these days. Sadly, the nation has suffered from war and lack of infrastructure for years. This coffee represents a glimmer of hope, however. Grown across the larger Sa’ada region where several initiatives are at work, the coffee was exported by Fatoum Muslot, the daughter of a well-established trader. Fatoum has a vision to raise living standards in coffee growing communities and to restore Yemenis production back to its glory days. We’ll drink to that. ☕️
Produced by 222 growers across Khulani, a sub-region of Sa’ada.
